Yes--- the greatest need is for young children and sibling groups. Recently, many young children have been placed outside their county because there are not enough homes. We want children to be able to visit with their families when the goal is to reunify with their parents or other family members. This gets harder when children are placed far away.
Each county in the United States has a Jobs and Family Services Department. They will know what private agencise provide foster care in each county. Most county department of Jobs and Families Services also license foster parents. In some counties, like Hamilton County, all foster care is provided by private agencies.

Beech Acres Parenting Center asks all interested respite providers to complete 12 hours of training. An interested person then completes background checks and gives the agency proof of insurance.
To become a foster parent, you must attend training hours, complete a home study and have backgroung checks completed. The process takes several months to complete. The state then issues a license with our recommendations.
